TRILOGY 1 - PART 5: THE STRATEGY'S PATTERN
TRILOGY 1 - PART 5: THE STRATEGY'S PATTERN
This fifth part shows how the strategy in Genesis 6 was not a one-time incident, but is the standard operating pattern of the Devil that repeats throughout history, thus providing a highly relevant context for the present day.
The Devil's Eternal Counterfeiting (2 Corinthians 11:14)
Key Verse: "And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." (2 Corinthians 11:14)
Thesis: Genesis 6 is not an anomaly. It is the first and most extreme example of a pattern that is the Devil's primary modus operandi: Counterfeiting. The Devil does not create; he only imitates, distorts, and contaminates what God has already created.
A. The Devil the Counterfeiter: The Pattern of Faking the Original
This pattern is an attack on God's sovereignty and authenticity. The Devil offers a "easier", "faster", or more "powerful" alternative that is ultimately deceptive and destructive.
1. God has a SON → The Devil wants to have "SONS"
The Original: Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God (Monogenes), who is eternal, uncreated, and of one essence with the Father (John 1:1, 14, 18).
The Counterfeit: The Nephilim, "sons of God" (Bene Elohim) resulting from a defiled union. They are contaminated creations, products of rebellion, and a corrupted imitation of the concept of "divine offspring".
His Goal: To corrupt the understanding of God's true relationship with His "Son" and to offer instant "divine offspring" through occult means.
2. God INCARNATES → The Devil promotes a false "INCARNATION"
The Original: The Incarnation of Christ. The Word became flesh (John 1:14) through a miraculous, holy virgin birth performed by the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:35).
The Counterfeit: The "incarnation" of the `Bene Elohim`. Created beings (angels) "entered" the human world through defiled and forced physical union.
His Goal: To contaminate the concept of incarnation so that when the True One came, He could be equated with the counterfeit and rejected (as happened in the Talmudic accusation that Jesus was the product of an illicit relationship).
3. God has a REDEMPTIVE SACRIFICE → The Devil has a perverted SACRIFICIAL RITUAL
The Original: The Old Testament sacrificial system pointing to Jesus' once-for-all redemptive sacrifice on the cross (Hebrews 9:12, 26).
The Counterfeit: Rituals of human and child sacrifice to gods like Molech and Baal (Leviticus 18:21, Jeremiah 19:5). This is a horrific distortion of the concept of redemption, where human blood is shed to appease evil spirits, not for the forgiveness of sins.
His Goal: To twist worship from love and redemption into terror and curse, and to provide an alternative "path" of redemption that is ultimately deadly.
4. God has a PROPHET → The Devil has FALSE PROPHETS
The Original: True prophets (Isaiah, Jeremiah, etc.) and Apostles, who faithfully delivered the Word of God.
The Counterfeit: False prophets like those who served Jezebel (1 Kings 18:19) or those who misled Israel by delivering false dreams (Jeremiah 23:32). They delivered a "word" originating from a deceiving spirit, not from the Spirit of God.
His Goal: To confuse God's people, provide alternative "revelation" contrary to God's will, and ultimately lead many astray.
B. Connection to the New Testament: The Ongoing Strategy
This Genesis 6 pattern did not stop in the Old Testament. Jesus and the Apostles continually warned that the same strategy was still actively at work.
Jesus Warned: "For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect." (Matthew 24:24). This is the exact same pattern: supernatural power (Spiritual Corruption/Phase 1) used to deceive and claim false authority.
Paul Warned: "...Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." (2 Corinthians 11:14). This is the core of all this counterfeiting. The Devil does not come with horns and a pitchfork; he comes disguised as something good, glorious, and spiritual—just like the `Bene Elohim` who might have initially appeared as "helpers".
The Final Warning: In the Book of Revelation, we see two "beasts" arise (Revelation 13): one from the sea (a false political/kingdom system) and one from the earth (a false prophet performing miracles). This is the ultimate fulfillment of the same strategy: political power (Alternative Kingdom) legitimized by false spiritual power (Spiritual Corruption).
Conclusion of Part 5:
Genesis 6 is the blueprint. It is the template revealing the pattern the Devil will continue to use throughout history until the end of the age. By understanding this pattern, we can:
1. Identify the Devil's Schemes: We are not easily deceived by "angels of light" or "spiritual knowledge" that seems good but ultimately leads us away from God's simple truth in Christ.
2. Appreciate God's Authenticity: We see how unique, holy, and different God's genuine works (incarnation, redemption, prophecy) are from all the counterfeits the world offers.
3. Be Spiritually Prepared: We are vigilant and alert, knowing that our enemy has not ceased operating with the same pattern: offering the counterfeit to replace the genuine.
Thus, Trilogy 1 does not end with the age of Noah. It provides us with a critical lens through which to interpret every form of spirituality, truth claim, and power we encounter today. It carries immense relevance for the life of the believer in the 21st century.
